Medicine Path

Ayahuasca Medicine

A traditional Amazonian brew prepared with ayahuasca vine and chacruna leaves, served in ceremony by experienced Shipibo-Conibo healers.

Master Plant Ayahuasca is the powerful ancestral medicine of the peruvian Amazon rainforest. It is the brew of two plants, the Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and the leaves of Chacruna shrub (Psychotria Viridis). From centuries, used by tribes such as the Konibo Shipibos, it is medicine for the body, but also for the mind, the heart and the soul. When drinking ayahuasca, you enter the spirit world where the realms and roots of your being lie. There, Medicine Ayahuasca guides you, heals you and even empowers you to heal yourself. The power and ability of this plant medicine is so broad, it is acurate to say that she can help you with more than you can imagine. The ayahuasca brew we serve at The Bridge of Light Retreats it is prepared respecting the ancient Traditional way by Traditional Shipibo healers, we brew it solely with ayahuasca vine and chacruna leaves. This two plants work together to give you a powerful medicinal trance, as the ayahuasca vine opens up the spiritual world, and the chacruna brings forth the visions within it.

San Pedro / Huachuma

Medicine Path

San Pedro / Huachuma

A traditional andean cactus medicine known for its gradual, grounded healing, and nature-connected unfolding.

San Pedro medicine, also known as Huachuma, is a sacred cactus that grows natively in the Andes Mountains. Its active compound, mescaline, is a naturally occurring psychedelic that - when the cactus is traditionally prepared and cooked - transforms into a potent plant medicine, carrying participants through a long, heart-centered journey of healing, awareness, and deep connection. What sets Huachuma apart from faster-acting psychedelics is its gentle, unhurried unfolding across many hours. It has profound healing effects on the human body, psyche & spirit in many different aspects and specters. Rather than overwhelming the system, it creates space for clarity and profound introspection. Known lovingly as the Grandfather Spirit, this medicine is honored for the grounding wisdom it carries - leading people to shed emotional burdens, integrate past trauma, and return to a deep, embodied relationship with the natural world. Our ceremonies are held during the day, inviting participants to move through the experience in relationship with nature. Guided walks, moments of quiet reflection, and traditional despacho offerings by the fire all form part of the journey. The expansive, open quality of the medicine finds a natural harmony with daylight - often evoking a felt sense of joy, interconnectedness, and inner clarity.
